Sauber C12

After a successful career in sportscar racing, Sauber indirectly backed by Mercedes-Benz, entered the F1 fray with the C12. Twelve points from 32 starts was not a brilliant debut but it was better than most and as a result the team secured works engines for their next effort.

Sauber C14

When Mercedes jumped ship for McLaren at the end of the 1994 season Sauber were left without an engine deal and as a result were forced to employ whatever Ford had available. The situation was made worse by the fact that Wendlinger returned to the team and it soon became apparent that his 1994 Monaco accident had left him less than capable. His replacement, the Frenchman Jean-Christophe Bouillion, was never going to set the world alight and the team finished the season with little to show for a lot of effort.
