Ram Hart 03

The team started 1985 with Philippe Alliot retained from the 1984 season and Manfred Winkelhock brought in from ATS. The team used the Hart turbo engine for this season along with Toleman and Lola, but the engines unreliability throughout the season constantly let the car down. Things started reasonably well with a 9th place for Alliot in the first race in Brazil, but that turned out to be the cars best result as more often than not both cars failed to finish the following races. Tragedy struck the team prior to the Dutch GP when Winkelhock was killed driving a Porsche 956 in the 1000KM race at Mosport. Kenny Acheson was brought in for a couple of races, but the team never recovered and shut shop at the end of the season.
